Google's new Chrome extension notifies you when your passwords expire

We've reached a point where new data breaches are announced every week. It's almost impossible to keep up with all the violations and your password situation, but a new Google Chrome extension will help.

The extension, simply called Password Checkup, monitors your credentials (usernames and [1

9459007)] (passwords)) and then informs you if they were part of a data breach. Very easily.

Allowing all your username and password to an extension can cause privacy issues. Google understands this and promises to keep all your information confidential and anonymous:

Password Checkup has been designed with privacy in mind. It never reports identifying information about your accounts, passwords, or devices. We report anonymous information about the number of searches that indicate insecure credentials, whether a password change warning occurs, and the affected domain to improve site coverage. For more information about how Password Verification works, visit https://support.google.com/accounts?p=password-checkup.

Once installed, you just have to leave it to its own devices. It'll run in Chrome and let you know when something's wrong. You can also click to make sure everything is fine if you want, but with a quick glance you should know everything you need to know.
