The stimulus bill could still be saved – we just have to wait and see.

A Republican “thin” coronavirus relief bill failed the Senate on Thursday with 52-47 votes. Congress could adopt a new stimulus bill that includes second stimulus test and other critical aid programs in support of the buoy Americans are looking for work, Fund businesses in trouble and run widespread COVID testing?

“We were in a challenging time,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Friday, according to The Hill. “I wish I could tell you we’d get another package, but it doesn’t look that good right now.”

“The Senate Republican bill provides nothing for rent, nothing for mortgages, nothing for groceries, nothing to pay for hazards, nothing for health care, nothing for public transportation,” Senator Bernie Sanders said Friday in the Senate, adding, that Americans need $ 2,000 a month “until this crisis is over.”

What happens now to such deep divisions? We have identified five possible scenarios. This story is updated often.

One big relief bill is back on the table … eventually

Formal talks on the overarching law don’t have to resume yet, but the Senate has returned from hiatus this week and the House of Representatives is back to work next week Passing on the USPS invoice during the break. The total cost of the bill is the basic dispute. The White House has hinted it could climb to $ 1.5 trillion, while the Democrats have moved from their original proposal of $ 3 trillion to $ 2.2 trillion, making gradual progress. (The failed skinny bill was estimated at $ 300-650 billion.)

The prognosis of another stimulus law that came before Presidential election fluctuates from day to day. Tuesday’s optimism has now led to doom and darkness on Friday, and anything could happen before the election. On the campaign path – digital or in person – the leadership’s coronavirus response is expected to be the focus for candidates at all levels, increasing political pressure to pass the next wave of bailouts or at least formulate a fail-safe plan.

Here we present a speculative timetable with dates as to when an aid bill might be passed when talks resume next week. It is based on congressional voting plans and the potential to postpone a scheduled hiatus or return home early to pass a bill.

Instead, several small bills could happen

The Senate’s narrower proposal, labeled Emergency Aid to America’s Families, Schools, and Small Businesses, is now no longer law. But it points to a way forward in delivering coronavirus aid in pieces and potentially bypassing the partisan surges that have plagued this new stimulus bill that has been dragging on for over a month.

The house submitted one of the first of these piece invoices to be made available Funding to the US Postal Service before a choice in which there will probably be many Vote by email.

“Let’s do a more focused bill now,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on September 6 in support of the thin GOP bill. “If we have to do more in 30 days, we will keep doing more.”

Executive orders can be issued instead of or in addition to an invoice

After talks originally collapsed on August 7, President Donald Trump took unilateral action with his signature an implementing regulation and three memoranda on the 8th of August. It is possible that further executive actions will come.

During a news conference last week, Trump said the administration could consider another executive move to free up $ 300 billion in stimulus aid in an unused account for Americans if Congress doesn’t vote to divert those funds.

The relief could be put on hold until after the election

With the November 3rd election in two months’ time, the atmosphere in Washington may be too political to pass more economic relief laws, and leaders may want to see what happens after the election.

With 470 seats in the U.S. Congress – 35 seats in the Senate and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives – up for election in November, any change in majority in the House or Senate and the Presidency itself could shift the likelihood of certain laws being passed be in a way.

The government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic is already a big part of the campaign at all levels. If an agreement is not reached soon, the issue of an aid package could very well be raised in town halls or debates in the coming weeks.

If no additional measures are taken

Unemployment remains at an astonishingly high level and a Housing crisis looms at the horizon. If no action is taken on an aid package, individual bills or executive orders, it could potentially cause the economy to falter a deeper recessionAs economists say, the damage already done is starting to mirror the great recession of the late 2000s.
