Hearings on the impeachment trial: Watch the Tuesday hearings here live



The public hearings surrounding the impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump began last week, and the House House motion will continue on Tuesday. Two hearings are scheduled for Tuesday, starting at 9:00 am ET (6:00 pm PT) and then continuing at 2:30 pm. ET (11.30 am PT).

The first session will include statements by Jennifer Williams, Vice-President Mike Pence's adviser to Europe and Russia, and Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, who arrived on July 25 for Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The afternoon includes statements by Kurt Volker, the former Special Representative for Ukraine, and Tim Morrison, the outgoing Senior Director of the National Security Council for European and Russian Affairs. Morrison was a deputy assistant to the President and was also present on July 25. You can learn more about the upcoming witnesses at CBS News.

The Democrats are investigating whether Trump should be removed from office because of his behavior towards Ukraine. These include a phone call in July, in which he seems to have asked the President of Ukraine, former US Vice President Joe Biden, who is currently a Democratic presidential candidate, and his son Hunter's connections to a Ukrainian gas company in exchange for US military aid to investigate.

The Speaker of Parliament Nancy Pelosi initiated a formal impeachment trial in September. She has since accused the president of corruption. Trump called the investigation "a joke." Full coverage of hearings on impeachment can be found here.

How can I watch?

A number of news channels and services will broadcast live the hearings with the CNN and CSPAN cable news channels without existing programs offering live broadcasts of the process.

Those wishing to stream the hearing can do so for free at online news services such as the House Intelligence Committee's YouTube channel. The morning session is embedded above, the second session is embedded below.

What time does it start?

The first hearing is expected to begin on Tuesday, November 19, at 9:00 am CET (6:00 am CET).

Who is expected to appear?

Jennifer Williams, Vice-President Mike Pence's adviser to Europe and Russia, and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who was present on July 25 for President Donald Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will appear in the first session.
