Here are the Macs who will work with MacOS Mojave

When Apple announced on iOS 12 at WWDC 2018 it became clear how many devices could use the updated mobile operating system and its new features: all iPhones and iPads from 201

3 to today, just like iOS 11.

MacOS Mojave Apple's upcoming desktop operating system, also announced at WWDC, did not receive the same level of attention. If available as a free software update for Macs this fall, it will be available mid-2012 and later on 2010 and 2012 systems and Mac Pro models with recommended Metal-capable graphics cards.

To be more specific:

  • MacBook (early 2015 or later)
  • MacBook Air (mid-2012 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (mid-2012 or later)
  • Mac Mini (Late 2012 or later )
  • iMac (late 2012 or later)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • Mac Pro (late 2013, plus mid-2010 and mid-2012 models recommend using Metal-enabled GPU)

For comparison: Apple's current MacOS, 10.13 High Sierra, can be operated with:

  • MacBook (late 2009 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (mid-2010 or later)
  • MacBook Air (late 2010 or later)
  • Mac mini (mid-2010 or later)
  • iMac (late 2009 or later)
  • Mac Pro (mid-2010 or newer)
