The home screen of the iPhone retains its distinctive aesthetics through a grid of icons that blend seamlessly into virtually any background. It looks a bit minimalist, but is broken by confusing text labels for apps and folders. Fortunately, there is a way to remove these labels, but you must be involved in a jail to remove them.
Honestly, who needs these labels anyway? You know where all your apps are, and even if you did not, they're the icons. Folders also do not need labels because they can see their contents.
Granted, there are ways to hide folder captions, but they do not work for app names. Here comes Justin Proulx's CleanHomeScreen optimization into play. The free mod makes it easy to remove app and folder names, and as a bonus you can disable other elements of the home screen, such as: free look.
: Installing Dynastics Repository
CleanHomeScreen is not available natively in Cydia or in Sileo. So you need to install a repo with the tweak before you can start working on it. The process is straightforward: just add the following URL to your Sources list.
It should be noted that it will not display automatically when you add it to Cydia in Sileo and vice versa. You must manually add the repo to both if you use both. Read the instructions below to learn more about this process.
Step 2: Install CleanHomeScreen
After adding Dynastic Repo to your source list, tap Search in Cydia or Sileo and type the following in CleanHomeScreen. Select the tweak as soon as it appears and click either "Install" (Cydia) or "Retrieve" (Sileo) when you are on the page Details of the tweak.
Now confirm the installation of the tweak with one of the two keys. Press "Confirm" (Cydia) or swipe up on the "Queue" card and select "Confirm" (Sileo). Once you've done this, give the process a minute or two (usually faster) of time, and then click "Restart SpringBoard" to restart the iPhone and complete the installation.
CleanHomeScreen turns automatic activated. Once your iPhone is reformatted, the elements of the Home screen are removed and the screen is locked to give you a completely minimalist experience. However, you might not want to disable some disabled features, such as: For example, the screen lock date, Today view, and others. So, open the Settings app, scroll down, and tap CleanHomeScreen to further tune the optimization.
From there, set the toggle switches for lock and startup screen items that you have to make visible again, to "off". Click on "Respring" if you are satisfied with the changes made.
