Sony released the PlayStation 4 more than four years ago and equipped a next generation controller with the next generation console. The DualShock 4 debuted with an impressive array of features that allowed it to quickly replace the DualShock 3 among Sony loyalists. Although somewhat heavier than its predecessor, the controller showed improved analog sticks and triggers, not to mention adding a capacitive touchpad.
Perhaps one of Sony's biggest features was its commitment to make the DualShock 4 compatible with Windows-based PCs. However, this promised compatibility proved elusive and only recently emerged. But now that Sony has officially released an external dongle for PCs – and third-party applications such as Steam and DS4Windows continue to improve support for the controller ̵
