How to check if you are registered to vote

To see if you are currently registered to vote, visit vote.org and click Check your registration. From here you need to enter your personal information such as first and last name, current address, date of birth and email address. Make sure all of your information is correct and choose Check your registration. On the next screen you will either see confirmation that you are registered or that you need to register in order to vote.

How do I register to vote?

If you are not registered to vote, visit vote.org and click Register to vote. Enter your personal data here as indicated above and click on Continue. When you have finished filling out the form, you will need to sign and date it, and then send the form by mail or by hand to the address provided.

You may have to register again to be able to vote.

Common reasons to re-register for voting

Even if you’ve already registered to vote, there are a few reasons why you may have to register again.

  • You recently moved to another location.
  • You have changed your name since your last vote.
  • You want to change political parties.
  • You haven’t voted in the past four years.
  • You have never registered to vote. In this case you have to register for the first time.
