is more of a social network than a payment service and publicizes your transactions by default. You need to change a setting if you prefer to keep your veneto coming and going private. Otherwise, Venmo users will be able to see when you make or receive a payment.
Luckily, you can easily set your venmo activity privately or globally. Let us quickly check your options.
Privately Enabling a Venmo Transaction
When you send a payment, you can tap the button at the bottom right of the large blue Pay button to select one of three options:
- Public: Visible to anyone on the Internet
- Friends: Visible to sender, recipient and their Venmo friends
- Private: Visible only to sender and recipient
Again, the Public option is selected by default.
Privately set all Venmo transactions
Tap the Hamburger Button at the top left, tap to lock your venmo activity. Settings and then tap Privacy . Under Default privacy settings, tap Private and continue to use Venmo from the beginning – as a payment service, not as a social network.
