Apple's approach to mobile payment can be confusing, considering that the company now offerswhich are similar to different services, however work different way. (Jessica Dolcourt of CNET does a great job in reducing .)
With the Apple Card, Apple took a new approach to how users interact with and manage a credit card. From the simple sign-up process to viewing your spending habits, making daily money, and paying your bill –.
How to Sign In
Before you can apply, make sure that you are using an iPhone 6 or later running. On your phone, open Settings> General> Software Update to make sure.
The logon process is simple:
1. Open the app Wallet on your iPhone.
2. At the top right, tap the + button.
3. When you see a screen that explains Apple Pay, tap Next .
4. Select Apple Card from the list of available payment methods.
5. Apple will fill out most of the sign-up form with your Apple ID information for you. You will need to review and confirm the information, add the last four digits of your social security number, enter your annual income, and then accept the terms and conditions of the Apple Card.
6. Once you are done, you will receive an offer with your credit limit and interest rate. Touch Accept Apple Card to open your Apple Card account. Choose No, thank you if you change your mind.
After accepting the offer, you will be asked if you want to set the Apple Card as the default card. If you select Use as Default Card your Apple Card will be enabled for all contactless payments and your Apple Apple Store source for the Apple Store (apps, movies, subscriptions) will be changed to use the Apple Card ,
If you have a poor credit rating or are not sure if you qualify, read the Apple support document, which describes in detail what can lead to your application being rejected.
Finally, during the sign-up process, you will be asked if you would like to receive aby e-mail for use in non-contact payment systems. If you do not want a physical map at the moment, you can request one later at any time.
Using Your Apple Card
Immediately after opening your Apple Card account, you have a digital version of the card in Apple Pay. You can shop right away – I bought a few minutes after setting up my account at Starbucks Coffee.
The process of using your Apple Card through Apple Pay is the same as before: place your phone near a payment terminal and confirm the transaction with Touch ID or Face ID.
Apple also adds your Apple card to Safari's auto-fill feature, which you've probably been asked to order in Safari on your phone or Mac. If you are not prompted to use your Apple Card or other card when purchasing in Safari, go to your iPhone's App Settings and select Safari > AutoFill and Turn on credit cards .
If you intend to use your Apple Card on a website that does not accept Apple Pay and you are not a Safari user, your Apple Card will have a semi-permanent virtual card number (more on this below). You can find the number of your card on your iPhone by opening the Wallet app and selecting your Apple card and then the three-dot icon in the top right corner, followed by card information.
There you will find a card number, an expiration date and a security code – all the information you need to buy online or by phone.
Your Titan-Apple card should be mailed within a week of registering. Once this is the case, you must either activate it in the Wallet app (for older iPhone models) or by placing your iPhone XS or iPhone XR ($ 750 at Best Buy) near the card envelope Keep and follow the instructions prompts.
The Wallet app is your Apple Card account portal.
The Wallet app on your iPhone lets you view and manage your Apple Card account. Your card is tied to your Apple ID, so you do not have to worry about creating a different password and remembering it.
When you buy, you'll find that the Apple Card in the Wallet app changes color after each transaction and looks different. In this way, Apple gently shows you what your spending habits are, with each color representing a different category.
There are currently seven spending categories: shopping, dining, entertainment, services, travel, transportation and health.
To view your spending habits, open the Wallet app and select your Apple Card. You'll see a list of recent transactions, your balance, all pending payments, and weekly activity.
Tap a transaction to see more details, including the exact location where it was made, how much daily money you earned, and how much money you spent in that store for a given month.
Select Weekly Activity to see your purchases, which are subdivided into the same color-coded categories that determine what your Apple Card looks like. Alternatively, you can tap Show Monthly to break up the spending patterns after each month.
Once purchases have been posted to your account, you can make a payment and see how much interest your current account balance will take over time. Display your Apple Card in the Wallet app and tap the payment field. At the top of the screen your billing date will be displayed. With a circular slider, you can adjust a payment amount. Immediately below, all calculated interest charges are displayed. Tap Pay Now when you are ready to pay.
The first time you make a payment, you must add a bank account. If you already use Apple Cash, you will be asked if you want to use the same bank account, and the information will automatically be filled out for you. Otherwise you will need the bank code and the bank account number.
Your Apple Card will give you cash back with every purchase. The amount of daily allowance you earn depends on how (and in which case, where) a purchase is made. For all Apple purchases, be it for your Apple Music subscription or a new iPhone in the Apple Store, you'll get a 3% refund. At launchto give Uber Eats all the rides and orders the same 3% advantage.
You will get 2% back on all contactless payments. If you use the physical card, you get 1% back.
(For example, theand .)
You do not have to do anything to get your daily cash-Apple processes and transfers it to your Apple Cash Card every night. So, if you bought an iPad Pro ($ 746 at Walmart) from the Apple Store and the total was $ 1,000, you should expect your Apple Cash card to be $ 30 after booking. Dollars.
You can then place your Apple Cash balance on your Apple Card balance, spend it on Apple Pay, or transfer it to your bank account.
Review your daily money transaction history by selecting your Apple Card in the Wallet app and then selecting the three-point icon in the upper-right corner. View your transaction history under Weekly Activity and select Daily Cash.
What happens if you lose your card or, worse, your phone?
If you've misplaced or lost your physical Apple Card, you can freeze it in the Wallet app. You can then freeze the card again when you have restored it and use it again. If you lose it and can not find it, you can cancel your old card and request a new one in the Wallet app.
Replace your virtual map.
If your virtual card has been compromised, you can cancel it and request a new number from the Wallet app. If you do, you will immediately receive a new number and code, invalidating the previous card number. Your virtual card number does not match the one on your physical card. If you want to get a new virtual number, you will need to order a replacement card.
To request a new virtual card number, display your Apple Card in the Wallet app and tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner. Select Map information > Request new map number . You must confirm that you want a new card number. After that it will be updated.
What happens if you lose your phone?
If you lose your iPhone, you must first activate. Otherwise, nobody will be able to use all the cards you've added to Apple Pay. Next, you must contact Apple Support at 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) and request that you block your virtual card number and, if applicable, your physical card. Or you can use until you can recover your iPhone.
Customer Support Information
The fastest and easiest way to get support for your Apple Card account is through iMessage. You can start a conversation with Apple Support by viewing your Apple Card settings in the Wallet app.
Tap the Message button and an iMessage thread will begin, where you can chat with a support representative from Goldman Sachs, the card issuer and the Apple Card bank. In addition to the Message option, you can also find the options for calling support or visiting the support website.
Do not go to an Apple Store: Apple Card support is provided by Goldman Sachs, so Apple Store employees are unlikely to help you but to forward you to Goldman Sachs.
Because the Apple Card is part of the Mastercard network, you are entitled to some of the benefits of the Mastercard network that you need to contact Mastercard support for. For example, to get help with identity theft protection, or.
What happens if you switch to Android?
If you decide that it's time to upgrade to an Android phone, you can continue to use the physical version of your Apple Card and continue to deposit it on your balance. However, you must submit your payments to 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753). Without an iPhone, all the benefits and optimized interactions that make the Apple Card unique will disappear.
You can use your iPad ($ 249 at Walmart) to view transaction history and related information, make payments, view spending habits, or the more granular features you find on an iPhone.
If we continue to use the Apple Card, collect fees, make payments, and monitor our expenses, we'll certainly discover more features. We will continue to update this post in the coming days and weeks.
