If you ever think of modifying your Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra, you need to know its recovery mode and download mode. Even if that’s not your thing, knowing how to boot into these modes can protect your phone from a soft building block.
Without the dedicated Bixby button, booting into either mode doesn’t seem that easy for long-time Galaxy users. Thankfully, Samsung has simplified the process and eliminated the need to hold three buttons with enough pressure and time to boot into the correct mode.
Boot into recovery mode
To start into recovery mode, first turn off your Galaxy Note 20. After powering off completely, press and hold the volume up and power buttons until you see the Samsung logo. Release both buttons and after a few seconds a black screen with yellow and blue letters will appear. This is the recovery mode.
Boot into download mode
First, shut down your Galaxy Note 20. After turning it off, hold down the volume buttons and connect the phone to a computer with a USB cable (the other end of the cable should already be connected to your computer). Hold down the two buttons and the phone will start in download mode.
