How to Change Online, In-Store, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and PayPal Payment Cards for PayPal «Smartphones :: Gadget Hacks

Buying from PayPal is great because you can pay with your balance, bank account, debit card, credit card, debit card or even PayPal's own credit product. You'll need to pick a preferred payment method for each in-store and online account, but changing these settings can be a bit tricky on your iPhone or Android phone.

Change Your Preferred Online Payment Method

Let's start with the simple one. To change your preferred online shopping payment method, tap the gear in the top right corner of the PayPal app. Then tap "Payments and transfers" and then "Online purchases".

Choose your preferred online payment mode from your list of options. If you do not see your preferred payment option, you'll need to add the card or account to PayPal and confirm, or you can only confirm your card or account if they've already been added. If you do not confirm your bank or credit card, you can not use it as a source of funding.

If you use PayPal balance as your preferred payment method, you will be asked to select a different payment method if you do not have enough money in your account. If you have selected an option, click "Done" below to change your preferred payment option.

2. Change preferred payment method in store

To change your preferred payment method for store purchases, you must access PayPal through your mobile web browser. In your browser of your choice go to paypal.com, log in with your access data and tap on the cogwheel in the upper right corner. If you do not see it on the top right, tap the menu icon and then tap the gear.

Scroll to profile and tap on "Money, Banks and Cards". If you do not see these options, tap the Payments tab at the top instead.

You are in the web browser version of PayPal Now you see the option to change your preferred method of payment for purchases in stores (you may need to scroll down first). Tap either "Set" (if you've never made purchases in stores) or "Change" (if you've made purchases in stores) next to In-store purchases .

Select a payment method from the displayed list. If your preferred payment method does not appear, you'll need to manually add it or confirm your card or account. Click either "Confirm" or "Save" and your new preferred method of paying in stores will be set.

. 3 Change for Google Pay, Samsung Pay & PayPal Cash Card

If you have set up Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or the PayPal Cash Card, you can also change your preferred payment method. As with payments in the store, you can not access these settings in the PayPal app. So go back to paypal.com in your mobile web browser.

Tap the gear icon at the top or within the menu and go to "Money, Banks, and Cards" or the "Payments" tab, depending on which version of the web app you see. Next to tap Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and PayPal Cash Card Change. If you do not see this section, you probably have not set any of these options yet. When you see it, select an account and click "Next" or "Save" to make the change. If your bank or debit card is not displayed, you will need to verify it with PayPal.
