Sign in to Your Facebook Account
Once you know what you can and can not do with your new name, it's time to get started. Launch your preferred browser and log in to Facebook as usual by entering your email address or phone number and entering your password before navigating to the home page.
Accessing General Account Settings
Continue to your feed and click the blue down arrow in the upper-right corner of the home page. Select Settings from the drop-down menu. The General Account Settings tab should be opened by default. However, just click the General option on the left to access the main interface if it is not.
Change your name
Now you can change the big name. Click on the blue button Edit at the top right of your name to access the settings for the main name. Enter your preferred first, middle and last name before specifying your display name in the drop-down menu under the three text boxes.
You can also add an alternate name (eg, maiden name, nickname, job title) to your account by typing your desired name in the text box to the right of Alternative name and the box to the left of into my timeline .
