Password issues are not just about forgetfulness. You should change it regularly because you do not want hackers to use passwords that you created in the 1990s. This guide tells you how to change your Windows password.
These instructions use three methods: the Windows 1
Change your Microsoft password in the Settings app.  Log in to your Microsoft account using the current password. Click the Start button and select the gear icon on the left side of the Start menu. This will open the Settings app.
Alternatively, you can also click the gear icon in the taskbar if you previously attached the Settings app.
With the Settings app open, select Tile "Accounts".
The app opens by default with "Your Info". Click on "Login Options" on the left and "Password" under "Login Options" on the right. The password entry expands with the "Modify" button, which you click to continue.
Follow the steps to verify your identity, such as a finger or entering a PIN or password. After confirming, enter the current password followed by a new password.
Click the "Next" button to exit.
Change Your Microsoft Password Online
The Login Options window (Settings> Accounts> Login Options) in the Settings app contains a link to change the password for your Microsoft account. You will essentially be directed to Bing for instructions on how to change your password online.
First log in to your Microsoft account using the current password on the company's Web site. After loading the site, click the "Security" option above. The following page displays a password change option and a change link.
Click this link to enter your current password followed by the new password (twice). Finally, click the "Save" button.
Change password for a local account
This method does not begin until you log in with a forgotten password. Once you press Enter and enter the wrong password, a password reset link appears below the password input box. Click on the link.
Next, answer your three security questions on the following screen.
After answering If you have questions, click the arrow button to create a new password, and then confirm it.
