How to Convert Your Existing Amazon Echo to Kid Edition

Amazon offers an Echo Dot children's edition for $ 70 with integrated parental controls. However, you can turn any Amazon Echo into a Kid & # 39; s Edition model and get the same kid-friendly features for your kids.

Children learn technology as fast as they grow

Alexa is great at answering questions, making music, controlling your smarthome, and occasionally telling a moaning joke. As soon as your children can speak well enough, they will use an echo in a very short time ̵

1; maybe even faster than you!

Your little boy wants to request an echo in his room, but that's the idea. They want to be in control of what they can hear, what kind of music they can play and when to use their echo. Clear and present boundaries and moderation are cornerstones of education, and technology is no exception. Amazon recognized this need (and, to be honest, this business opportunity) and introduced the Echo Kid's Edition.

 Amazon Parental Dashboard

This echo has parental controls that allow time and content boundaries. With the Amazon Dashboard, you can prevent the echo from being used during sleep or early in the day. You can specify age limits for content and disable access to smartphones.

Extra Costs for Childrens Edition

The Echo Childrens Edition, however, costs $ 70, compared to $ 50 for a standard echo point. With this $ 20 surcharge, you will receive a free subscription and free subscription to FreeTime Unlimited, which includes ad-free radio and hundreds of children's books. If you have a tablet, you also have access to kid-friendly movies and TV shows. After this free year, FreeTime Unlimited costs $ 2.99 a month.

If you do not want FreeTime Unlimited, you pay $ 20 for one case. Echo points are not devices that you take with you or even pick you up for some reason. A protective cover is not required, but if you want one, you can get a colorful protective cover for about $ 9. Unfortunately, the Echo Kid Edition also seems to be a second-generation echo, so you even pay extra for older technology.

You can often buy the Kid's Edition with a two-for-one offer – you still spend $ 70. At least you'll get two units that lower the cost of each device below a current echo point. On the other hand, Amazon sometimes sells the Echo Dot for $ 20 or $ 30.

If you already have a replacement echo or just want to save a few bucks, you should convert a standard echo device to a kid edition model. This works best with a full-size echo. it does not have to be a point. If your kids love music, you can give them a better sound without having to connect extra speakers.
