Apple has changed the way the iPhone and iPad startup screen works in iOS 13. If you now long press the icon of an app, this will appear first a context menu rather than the usual jiggling icons with "x" buttons.
All this because Apple 3D Touch gets rid of. Instead of pressing the screen particularly hard to open the context menu, you just have to press and hold a single icon and the menu will appear. There is now an extra step before these app icons start to wobble.
Deleting Apps on the Home Screen
To use the new shortcut menu, long press on an app icon until the menu appears, and then tap Reorder App The icons start to wobble and you can move or delete them.
You can also long press the app icon and long press without moving your finger, even if the context menu is displayed. If you wait another moment, the menu disappears and the app icons start to wobble.
Tap the "x" button for an app icon and then tap Confirm with "Delete." When done, tap "Done" in the upper right corner of your screen.
Uninstalling apps from the settings
You can also uninstall apps from the settings. Go to Settings> General> iPhone Memory or iPad Memory. This screen displays a list of your installed apps and the local stores they use. In this list, tap an app and then tap "Delete app" to delete it.
Removing Apps from the App Store
As of iOS 13, you can also do so by deleting apps from the update list in the App Store. Open the App Store and touch your profile icon to access the update list. Under "Upcoming Automatic Updates" or "Recently Updated," swipe left on an app and tap "Delete" to remove them.
If an app is self-updating or just updating and you find that it should no longer be installed, this is the case Now it's easy to remove it from here without finding it elsewhere.
Uninstalling apps requires just tapping again or pressing a little longer now that iOS 13 is out. It's no big deal – but it's a bit of a surprise when you long press an app icon for the first time and see the new context menu.
