Here at How-To Geek we love dark mode and use it very often. If you're an Office user looking for a darker look, here's how to turn on dark mode in the Outlook Web App.
The dark mode is only available in the new modern Outlook design. If you have not yet activated it, it will automatically be there for you soon, as Microsoft has announced that everyone will be switching to the new experience in the coming months.
Disabling the Dark Mode Click "Settings" at the top right and enable the "Dark Mode" option.
That's all. The app instantly switches to dark mode, which is much more eye-friendly after the previous pure white incarnation.
If you want to use the read area, and only the reading area that should be white, the selected e-mail will contain a toggle switch You can do this.
Click This to toggle the body of the email between light and dark when dark text on a light background is more readable.

When you use the Outlook client, you can also enable dark mode along with the rest of your Office apps. However, if you want a dark mode in your mobile office app, you're out of luck right now. The latest versions of the mobile operating system are Android Q and iOS 13, both have a dark mode, but the Outlook app is unaffected. But it looks like Microsoft is working on a dark mode on its iOS app, which usually means adding the same Android functionality. We will keep you up to date when and when it pops up.
