How to enable "night shift" mode to prevent your iPhone from keeping you awake at night «iOS & iPhone :: Gadget Hacks



If you're reading articles in bed or scrolling through Facebook before you fall asleep, you spend a lot less time on your iPhone before you go to sleep, as long as you're using the right viewing mode. Step 2: Enable night switch mode

To activate the night switch mode, go Go to Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Night service, then simply activate the option "Activate manually until tomorrow".

Alternatively, you can open the Control Center, then tap the Night service control (on iOS 10 and lower) or press firmly on the brightness slider and tap the night-time button (iOS 11 or higher). You may need to select "Turn on until 7am" in the pop-up to complete activation.

Your iPhone will automatically disable Night Shift after 7 o'clock local time, so you do not have to worry about turning it off when you wake up unless you wake up very early (Step 3: Adjust Deactivation Time.)

Step 3: Plan Night Shift Mode

If 7:00 am local time is not the time you want to turn off, or if you want to schedule a start time, you do not need to remember to manually activate Night Shift if you drop the sack, instead you can spend one day / Night or Custom Schedule.

Just switch to the "night shift" options in "Display & Brightness" settings, then enable "Scheduled." The Control Center is changing through the years

Just in case you're wondering, Apple does not seem to pick a Control Center option for Night Shift. In iOS 9.3, when it was first released, it was a small button with no name. When iOS 10 came up, it became a huge bar with a clear name and status. Then iOS 11 hid it in the volume control. So far, iOS 12 is the only major release that has not changed the way Night Shift works, so we hope it stays that way.
