Time to Play – Fortnite is now officially available for Android. However, the game will not be immediately available in the Android ecosystem. Fortnite Battle Royale launches on Samsung devices first. In other words, if you have a Galaxy S7, S8, S9, Note 8, Tab 3, or Tab 4, you can download the game right now.
The game will also be available on the new Galaxy Note 9, however the phone still needs to be released. In the meantime, as long as you own one of the Samsung Galaxy devices listed above, you can access Fortnite over all other Android users. To download Galaxy Galaxy Apps on your Galaxy device, find and launch Galaxy Apps on your Samsung device. While you can not search for Fortnite at this time, there is a pretty prominent banner for the game when Galaxy Apps is opened. Tap this banner and then tap "INSTALL & OPEN" in the pop-up to start downloading Fortnite.
Fortnite Installer requires access to photos, media, and files on your Galaxy device. Grant this permission by tapping "ALLOW" in the pop-up. Then the actual game is downloaded to your device. Then tap LAUNCH.
When the second download is complete, you'll have two new apps on your Galaxy device ̵
While there have been reports that you can download Fortnite through Game Launcher, this does not seem to be the case. However, you can add the game to the Game Launcher after downloading Galaxy Apps because it can improve performance.
