E3, short for thewas for most of its history an event in which only video games were played. These included game developers, publishers, journalists, and even retailers who sold games but not ordinary players.
Continuing an experiment from last year, the show is again open to the public, at least in a limited form. A three-day "Gamer Pass" is available for $ 249 (about £ 185 or $ 330). An Early Bird $ 149 Special (about £ 110, AU $ 200) is already sold out. Industry participants can usually attend for free.
The official E3 website describes the gamer passport as follows:
"A gamer pass is good for all three days of the E3, including E3 Coliseum. Experience the excitement of the announcements, unseen products and industry technologies below Be part of the biggest video game event in the world. "
This pass gives you access to the Los Angeles Convention Center exhibition area from June 1
