Some app and game stores offer refunds for digital purchases, while others do not. For example, you will receive refunds for Android and iPhone apps or for PC games purchased from Steam or elsewhere.
Apple's Apple and Mac App Store

Apple may request refunds for purchased apps, regardless of whether you purchased them from the iPhone or iPad App Store or Mac App Store. This method also allows you to claim refunds for digital media such as videos and music purchased from iTunes.
This is not a refund policy without queries. You must report a problem when purchasing from the iTunes or Apple website and wait for a response from Customer Support. However, if you buy an app or game that does not work well, you should save it. Just tell Apple that the app did not work properly or your expectations were not met. We have successfully received refunds from Apple using this method in the past.

Google has a more generous refund policy than Apple. For the first two hours after you purchase an app, you may request a refund for any reason and automatically receive one. So if an app does not work well or a game does not meet your expectations, you can return it without contacting Customer Service. Just open your order history in the Google Play app and use the "refund" option for a recent purchase.
If more than two hours have passed, you can file a refund request and Google's customer service representatives will consider your request. It is not guaranteed.

Steam has an excellent refund policy. As long as you have purchased a game in the last two weeks and played less than two hours, you can request a refund and automatically receive a game. So, if you do not enjoy a game that you have purchased, or if it does not run properly on your PC, you can get your money back.
Valve reserves the right to refuse to refund you if you misuse this feature, but we "have extensively used Steam refunds over the years and have received no warnings, as long as you actually buy and keep some games without refunding, this is probably fine, but if you're constantly refunding games and never keeping them, Valve might consider abusing them.

Origin has a "Great Game Guarantee" that applies to many, but not all games sold on Origin. All EA-owned games and some third-party games are included. The Origin website says, "If you do not love it, give it back."
You can only refund a game within the first 24 hours after the start. If you have not started the game yet, you can only refund it within the first seven days after purchase. This is less time than Steam's two-week window, but you can play as many hours as you like within the first 24 hours while Steam limits you to a maximum of two hours.

Some stores do not guarantee a refund, but offer refunds on a case-by-case basis. You can contact Customer Support to discuss your case with these stores:
- Blizzard : Blizzard has no published refund policy for its online store. However, you can try contacting customer service if you want a refund. "Game Purchase Refund" is one of the options that you can choose from the Blizzard Support site. Of course you have much more luck if you have recently bought the game.
- GOG : GOG has a money-back guarantee that applies to every game sold by GOG. If a game purchased from GOG does not work and GOG support staff can not solve the problem for you, you will receive a full refund. This only applies within the first thirty days after the purchase of the game. You can contact GOG Customer Service if you have a problem and get a refund if nothing else works.
- Humble Store : The Humble Store says, "Refunds are granted at discretion." If you have already played a game or redeemed a game key (such as a Steam key), your order is "probably not eligible for a refund." The Humble Support site contains instructions for trying to get a refund.
- Microsoft Store (Apps) : Microsoft's website clearly states that digital Xbox games are never eligible for reimbursement. However, Microsoft notes that software (such as Windows 10 apps) purchased from the Microsoft Store may be eligible for a refund in some cases.

The above stores may offer refunds in some cases, but many stores may not. The shame list of digital app and game stores that do not offer customer-friendly refunds:
- Amazon Appstore : According to Amazon, apps purchased from the Amazon Appstore can not get a refund. Amazon does not refund digital music purchases, but instead reimburses purchased Kindle eBooks.
- Microsoft Store (Xbox Games) : Microsoft says, "You can not return a digital game and receive a refund or credit." However, you can refund pre-ordered games and apps, which Nintendo and Sony do not allow Steam started testing Steam's self-service refunds for some users in April 2017, but they are not yet available to most users – and may never be.
- Nintendo eShop : Nintendo's digital games Store does not offer this to refunds, according to Nintendo's support site, "All sales (including up-front purchases) are final."
- Sony PlayStation : The Sony PlayStation Store does not provide refunds, even for pre-ordered ones Games you have not played yet will not work properly, and reimbursements will never be available under Sony's Terms of Service. unless Sony is required by law.
- Ubisoft Uplay : Ubisoft says, "All sales on digital PC content are final." Ubisoft does not offer a refund for any content you purchase through Uplay. You may want to buy Ubisoft games in other stores, such as: B. at Steam.
Of course, you can always try to contact Customer Support for a refund, regardless of which store you bought something from. However, if the shop in question has the No Refunds policy, you are fighting a hard battle. Think about this list when buying apps and games.
