Spam calls are one of the most annoying events in the world of smartphones for several reasons. Not only are they annoying, they can also be dangerous to people who do not know any better. Google has come up with a clever solution called the "Call Screen" that lets the Google Assistant handle the call for you while listening to the caller like a stealth ninja.
You can give the assistant commands to interact with the assistant caller without ever having to pick up the phone ̵
1; that's really awesome. If you ever have a real human cheater on the other side, it's pretty fantastic to waste your time and allow them to go through. Not answering unknown callers is still the best option, but it's a great tool that you can call upon when you're curious.
Now for the real reason you're here – you want to learn how you can Get the exclusive call screen feature of Google Pixel on your OnePlus phone. The developer stealth658 from XDA has developed a method that works the function call screen on OnePlus phones. It's a combination of several Magisk modules with a few more steps to make it work. Once done, it works just like a pixel phone.
Step 1: Download the Call Verification Module
If you do not, you will need to download the Call Screening Magisk module from the following link. Make sure you tap this link from your phone.
Now open the Magisk Manager to the main screen and tap the hamburger menu icon on the left and then "Module". Press the plus button below, allow the required permissions, and locate the downloaded Call Verification Module .zip file. Tap once on the file and Magisk will start installing the module. When done, tap the back arrow to return to the previous screen.
Step 2: Download the Busybox Module.
Reopen the hamburger menu as before and then go to "Downloads". Look for the term "busybox" in the search bar to find the next module for this manual. Tap once on the download arrow and then on "Install" to start the installation process. When done, tap the back arrow to return to the previous screen.
Step 3: Download the App Systemizer Module.
In the search bar, in the Downloads section, look again for the term "App Systemizer." Repeat the procedure as before to install the module. Once the installation is complete, you can click the "Reboot" button below to restart the device.
Step 4: Install the Google Phone App
After you've rebooted, it's time to install the last module for Call Screen to work. With the framework of this module, you can download the Google Phone app directly from the Play Store as if you were using a Pixel phone. This is the best way to load and keep the app up to date without jumping through the frames or using modified APKs.
To use the App Systemizer module that you downloaded in step 3, you must first access a terminal. The module is fully command-line based, which is why you also needed the Busybox module – it allows you to use advanced commands with superuser privileges. I always recommend Termux because it is very well built and comes from a trusted source.
Step 6: Systemize the Google Phone App
Now it's time to turn the Google Phone app into a system app It looks like it's preinstalled on your device, just like on a pixel phone. Open the Termux app and enter the following command followed by the Enter key.
When prompted, tap the Grant option to give Termux full Superuser privileges to your system. After you have your superuser privileges, enter the next command, followed by the Enter key.
This command instantly starts the user interface of the App Systemizer engine for the first time. That way, you can turn a user-installed app into a system app with minimal effort.
