How to "hide" status bar icons on your iPhone for a clean look in Apps & Wallpapers »iOS & iPhone :: Gadget Hacks



You can view battery information in Today view, you already know which carrier services you are using, and you can quickly determine if the display orientation is locked in normal use. Step 1: Install HideStatusBarItems

Open the Cydia app on your iPhone, tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom right, and type "hidestatusbaritems" in the search box. Tap the result of the same name when you see it and tap Install at the top right corner of Details to install HideStatusBarItems.

On the Tweak confirmation page, tap Confirm on the top right to complete the installation. The optimization will now be downloaded to your device. Therefore, wait until the process is complete. Select "Restart SpringBoard" after restoring your iPhone and completing the installation of HideStatusBarItems.

Step 2: Select, which icons you want to hide

You can now hide certain items in the status bar of your iPhone. You can hide only a few icons or all for no status bar. To do this, open the Settings app, scroll down, and choose HideStatusBarItems. Once you have logged in, first enable HideStatusBarItem by checking the box next to "Enable Tweak".

Choose from the long list of icons you want to hide everything you can imagine – you can turn off VPN, alarm, battery, airplane mode, carrier text, location, Bluetooth, and more. When you've made your selection, tap Apply Changes to apply the settings.

A confirmation prompt will now appear, click "OK" to continue, and wait a moment for the device to reboot. Once that's the case, your status bar will now be free of those pesky symbols that once confused you. For example, if you hide all the icons at once, your iPhone screen will look really minimalistic, even though the space previously occupied by the icons is still intact.

Remember that you won when you hide all icons It is not possible to show the signal strength of your iPhone for both Wi-Fi and Cellular, along with the battery indicator, clock, or lock icon of the lock screen.

However, you can still see the time and date either from the widget on the lock screen or by swiping down from the top of the screen. The battery status can be viewed in the Today view as long as you've added it there as a widget.

This makes it very easy to undo the optimization and redisplay the status bar icons on your iPhone. To do this, just tap the switch next to "Enable Tweak" on the HideStatusBarItems Settings page to completely disable the feature and you're done. Or, uncheck some of the icons you want to see again and tap Apply Changes.
