There is nothing wrong with indulging in occasional guilty pleasures on Spotify – we all need a bit of coldplay and creed in it our lifes. The only problem is that all your friends and family members could watch. Anyone following your Spotify account may be able to see what you hear. However, there are several ways to hide this shameful and embarrassing activity from the world.
In Spotify's iOS and Android apps settings, you can hide them What you hear by enabling a private session, keeping a playlist secret, or stopping sharing content on social networks. That way, you do not have to worry about anyone catching you when you launch the latest Imagine Dragons album.
Hiding Your Activity on Spotify
There are three ways to hide your activity on Spotify:
- Hearing Activity : Disabling this option suppresses all your listening in Spotify, from playlists and channels to albums to everything else.
- Private Session : If you enable this option, your listening activity will remain hidden until you close Spotify and be inactive for six hours, or disable the feature.
- Make secret : Enabling this option will prevent others from seeing your activity, but only in a specific playlist that has its secret mode set. Playing music outside the playlist will continue to be displayed to your followers, unless you also use one of the two options above.
Option 1: Turn off all listening activity
You can prevent your followers from seeing what you hear Disable the "Audibility" feature in your app's settings. In Spotify, tap the Home tab at the bottom, then tap the gear icon in the top right corner. Depending on whether you have an iPhone or an Android phone, either tap on "Social" (iOS) or scroll down to the section Social (Android). "Hearing Activity" should be enabled by default. Disable it.
