The OnePlus 7 Pro triple camera system is the best setup you've ever done, but it could always be better. The primary sensor offers a whopping 48 megapixels, but as history has shown, megapixels are not synonymous with better photos. In fact, it is the software that determines the camera performance of a phone as far as the hardware is concerned.
Luckily, Google has been addressing this issue for years with its camera app, which relies heavily on KI's performance and machine learning algorithms to make it even better. The camera app is currently available exclusively for pixel smartphones. However, until they decide to make it available to all, we have a great community of developers pumping out ports on a regular basis.
The well-known XDA developer Arnova8G2 is one of the main responsible for the ports and configuration files of Google Camera, which are required for a better user experience. In the last few months alone, so much progress has been made that it is amazing how far the ports have come since their beginnings. There's a reason why these ports exist ̵
Step 1: Install GCam
You must download the Google Camera (GCam) port to get all the benefits of the Pixel Camera on your camera OnePlus 7 Pro. Download the app via the following link to take the first step to get crisp photos, especially in low-light environments.
After downloading the app, tap the "Download complete" notification to start the installation process. You may need to enable the " Install Unknown Apps" option for the browser that you use to download the app. However, you can tap "Install" when you do this. Tap on "Done" and you're done with the app.
Step 2: Download the Configuration File
The latest GCam ports should work fine by default on most devices, but there are configuration files for specific devices that use the best settings for the best experience. For example, many smartphones will have more than one rear-facing camera as of 2019, unlike the previous three pixel generations.
These configuration files allow the GCam app to recognize and activate the other cameras. Sometimes things may not work as intended, but the community behind the GCam ports and the device-specific configuration files are constantly releasing new features and stable updates. Click the download link below to download and optimize the OnePlus 7 Pro configuration file.
After the file has been downloaded, you must move it to the correct location in the internal memory of your phone. Go to the Downloads app in your app drawer, long press on the XML file downloaded above, tap the dot menu on the top right, and then tap Move To. Touch the item menu again and then "Show internal storage". Finally, tap the Hamburger menu on the left and select "OnePlus 7 Pro". This will take you to the root of your internal storage where you will need to create a new folder.
At the top right, touch the point menu again and then tap New Folder. Name this folder "GCam" and then click "OK". The case is considered. Make sure you enter exactly as it is displayed. Otherwise, your configuration file will not be read when copying. In the just created "GCam" folder, you need to repeat the same process to create another folder called "configs".
The file location hierarchy should read as follows:
Internal memory> GCam> Configs> OP7_Arnova_Beta_Fizwiz_2.0.xml
At this point, you should be in the Configs folder so that you now have the option " Move "at the bottom right to transfer the downloaded file. Once you have done this, you should be returned to the Downloads section and you can proceed to the next step.
After completing the initial setup Out of the way, there is only one last thing you need to do before plunging into the GCam port of your OnePlus 7 Pro. When you open the new camera app, double-tap anywhere in the black area of the screen to bring up the trigger to bring up the configuration menu.
The configuration menu automatically selects the OnePlus 7 Pro configuration file Click the "Restore" button in the popup. Once you've done that, the app will restart very quickly, and you can start with the new GCam app!
Now that everything is done, you can start checking out all the cool new things you can do with your OnePlus 7 Pro via the new Google Camera port. Above all, Night Sight is the feature that many will long for, transforming photos into pure magic in low light conditions – no flash required! It's a cool feature and a great addition to OnePlus 7 Pro.
In my example photos above, I purposely set up an extremely dark area with a cool blue-white hue to see how each camera app behaves. They both do a great job of illuminating the area for maximum exposure with little to no light source. However, the OnePlus camera keeps the blue tint from the light source, while the Google camera can filter out this noise to keep the colors intact.
