In Gmail, you can customize the signature that appears at the bottom of every e-mail you send. Adding a link to your account on Facebook (or Twitter or LinkedIn) is a useful tool to expand your social network and give people additional ways to connect with you.
Customizing Your Gmail Signature
Your email signature is essentially your virtual business card. It should include your name, title and organization, contact information and links to social channels. Keep it tidy and professional.
We leave the content to you, and we'll show you how to add social profile links to your Gmail signature.
First things to do Log in to Facebook and navigate to the profile you want to connect to.
Note: For LinkedIn, click the "I" button Click "View Profile" on the toolbar. Click on your profile picture for Twitter. Both actions load your profile, and you can apply the following techniques the same way you do on Facebook:
Highlight the URL there, right-click, and choose Copy menu that appears. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + C.
Now go to Gmail and log in to your account. Click the Settings gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Select "Settings" in the menu that appears.
You are now on the Settings page of your Gmail account. By default, you will see the General tab. There is also the signature tool of Gmail.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find the "Signature" section. As you may have guessed, create your email signature here. By default, No Signature is selected. Go ahead and select the unnamed option below.
Next, enter your information. As already mentioned, we leave this part to you. Although there are several different signature styles, you should have something when you're done.
You may have noticed that many e-mail signatures contain favorites. You can certainly use them, but keep in mind the brand resource rules of each organization. Facebook makes these guidelines clear to you, as well as most social platforms. Do not break laws.
When you return to your signature, highlight the text to which you want to add the previously copied profile link. After marking, click on the "Insert link" icon.
The Edit Link window appears. Next to the "Text to display" box, the previously highlighted text should be displayed. If you have used a favicon instead of text, the name of the image will be displayed followed by the image format type.
Now paste the profile link you copied into the "Web address" box by right-clicking on it and selecting "Paste" or selecting it by pressing Ctrl + V. When done, click "OK ".
The highlighted text is now underlined and displayed in blue. Hovering over the text will also display the message "Go to Link". Here's your second chance to make sure the URL was entered correctly.
Now all you have to do is scroll down and select "Save changes". Your Gmail signature with a working Facebook link will now appear at the bottom of every email you send. Repeat these steps easily for your other social accounts.
