How to make waffles from Thanksgiving stuffing



My brother and I talk about sports clubs in Ohio and cook more than our kids do. And we love our own children and our nieces and nephews!

If we're not happy about the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds, we'll exchange recipes. (Perhaps the food helps relieve the pain of our fated fandoms.)

Last year, my brother shared a recipe that changed the course of my Thanksgiving planning. Well, it was more of a concept than a recipe. And that concept is to take leftovers, place them in a waffle iron and create the biggest remnant of Thanksgiving I've ever had.

After discovering that waffles are available to fill, I'll now double the amount of stuff I'm making for my Thanksgiving feast, leaving enough stuff for lunch for the rest of the holiday weekend.

What is a waffle to fill?

A waffle is exactly what it sounds like ̵

1; a waffle made of filler. This revolutionary idea allows you to remove remaining fillings from the fridge and warm them up quickly. The fatness of microwaved fillings is replaced by the crunchiness of a waffle.

Sounds amazing. How do I make waffles for filling?

I speak from experience when I say stuffing waffles is amazing. And easy. In addition to a pile of remaining stuffing, you only need two items:

  • One Waffle Iron
  • One or Two Eggs

Place your remaining filling in a mixing bowl. To help bind the cold, dry filling that you just took from your fridge, beat one or two ova, then add your eggs to the filling and mix them. If your filling is really dry, you can also add some chicken stock, but I skip this step and use only a few eggs. I have spicy, crispy waffles.

Sounds easy. What do I eat with waffle filling?

Waffle filling is easy. If you can use a waffle iron, you can fill waffles. There's no rule not to stuff the waffles by yourself – maybe use some gravy instead of a breakfast waffle syrup – but there are two ways to make a full lunch with your waffles.

  • Warm some of the leftover mashed potatoes, add a scoop on top of your stuffing waffle and cover with gravy. Also add some turkey and cranberry sauce if you are so moved.
  • Skip the white bread and use two waffle fillings for the leftover turkey sandwich. A waffle iron making square waffles is preferable to triangular or circular waffles for this endeavor.
