How to move the clock in Android Pie to the right of your Galaxy «Android :: Gadget Hacks



Android 9.0 Pie moved the status bar clock from the right corner to the left to pick up cell phones with notches, but for Samsung users there is a big drawback: Since no Galaxy phones have a notch, all this was just space notification icons otherwise would go out from the left corner.

Apart from the functionality, Android's progress bar clock was always on the right side. As a result, many people complained about iOS-style positioning. With the latest update for a useful app from developer Zachary Wander, there is now a way to move the clock back to where it belongs, and not even root is required.

To be clear, this method will not work working with other devices that run Android Pie only Samsung phones with a user interface.

Requirements

  • Samsung Galaxy device running Android 9.0 Pie (does not work with other Android phones)
  • USB data cable
  • Windows, Mac, or Linux computer

Step 1: Installing the Latest Beta Version of the SystemUI Tuner

The ability to move the status bar clock is a beta feature in a great app called SystemUI Tuner. To get the beta version, go to the Play Store page of the app at the following link and install it.

Now scroll down On the Play Store page of the app, click the "Join" button under the heading Join the beta and click on "Join" again in the popup. You'll probably have to wait 10 minutes for the Play Store app to detect that you're currently a beta tester. If so, you can reopen the app's Play Store page to update to the latest beta version. Step 2: Download ADB on your computer

Thus The app may change your progress bar clock, elevated permissions are required. The only way to do this without rooting is to send an ADB command from your Mac or PC.

Next, download ADB for your operating system using one of the links below. If you have the ZIP file, extract it to a location that you can easily access.

Step 3: Enable USB debugging on your phone

For ADB to work, you need to enable a setting on your phone. However, this setting is in a hidden menu. Therefore, first activate the developer options by going to Settings> About the phone and then tapping the "Build Number" entry 7 times in quick succession. Once the process has been completed successfully, a toast message will appear with the message "You are now a developer".

Then return to the Settings main menu on your phone. In the lower area, you will now see the newly activated "Developer Options" menu. Select this option, scroll down and enable the "USB Debugging" option. Then connect your phone to your computer via a USB data cable. You will then be asked if you want to allow "USB debugging". Step 4: Open a Command Prompt on the Right Directory

Connect your phone to your computer here via a USB cable if you have have not done so yet. Next, open the Platform Tools folder in the ADB folder you just extracted in step 2. If you already have ADB installed and are not sure where the location is, look for "platform" tools on your computer's hard drive.

Step 5: Grant the SystemUI Tuner

If the command prompt is now in the right-hand directory, copy the following command completely and paste it into the

Step 6: Move the clock to the right

Now open the SystemUI Tuner app on your phone, agree to the terms of use, and tap Mark down on the right several times to go through the first setup tour to scroll.

The last page prompts you to grant some additional permissions through ADB – but you have already granted the only permission The app must move the status bar clock to the right, tap the check mark to continue.

At this point you probably need the app from your app Open the compartment again. Then tap "To the Tweaks" on the main screen, select "TouchWiz" on the next page, then select "Miscellaneous".

Now select "Status Bar Clock" and then "Right" as position, and your watch goes back to the upper right corner immediately!
