Want to show your non-tech relatives how to set up their emails without actually needing them? Since iOS 11, Apple offers a native option for recording the screen on the iPhone, iPad and iPod. What a third-party app requires has become surprisingly easy
Setting up screen capture
Although screen capture is simple, you need to make the setting in your Control Center. To enable screen capture, go to Settings> Control Center> Customize Controls. Select the plus sign next to Screenshot. A Screen Capture The icon should now appear in your Control Center. You can access it by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or swiping across the top right corner of an iPhone X
Recording the screen
Apple has made screen capture a really simple process. Just open the Control Center and touch the icon Screenshot . It is a white circle with a circular ring.
When you tap the icon, you have three seconds to close the control center before the phone starts recording. A red bar will appear at the top of the screen to inform you of your recording.
If you want to add audio to your screen capture, things are a little different. Press the Screen Record icon with additional printing (via 3D Touch) for more options. A pop-up menu will appear in the center of the screen, and you can press the Microphone Audio icon, followed by the Start Recording button to get started
if you are using When the recording is done, the fastest way is to tap the red timer at the top of the screen. You will see the message Save Video Recording Screen as Photos will appear in your Notification Center and you can tap to open the Photos app to view it. You can also go to the Control Center and tap Record Screen to stop the recording.
Editing a screen capture
When you're done shooting, you can tweak the video. Apple's Photos app makes editing videos very easy.
When you finish recording your screen, the notification bar displays Screen Capture Video under Photos . You can either tap this notification or open the photo in the photo app to edit it.
Editing a screen shot is like editing another video in the Photos app. Open the video in photos and select Edit in the upper right corner. A slider appears below the screen capture. At each end of the slider, there are buttons that allow you to edit frame by frame. Drag the toggle bars to make adjustments to the beginning or end of the screen capture.
Screen Capture and Compatibility with Other Apps
Keep in mind that some apps may slightly change the way you screen capture or add new screen recording features. A good example is Mirror for Samsung TVs, which adds an option to the Apple screen recorder to mirror the recording on a connected Samsung TV. You may want to look into such apps if you want the Apple screen recorder to have additional functionality.
