Your Chromecast with Google TV remote has two keyboard shortcuts. The first opens the YouTube app of your choice and the second starts Netflix. If you want to change the action of any of the shortcuts, you can remap the button on the Chromecast using the Google TV remote.
Remap the YouTube button
The YouTube button in Chromecast with Google TV remote can be remapped to quickly open any YouTube app. The button supports the standard YouTube app, YouTube TV, YouTube Kids, and YouTube Music.
First, press and hold the YouTube button on your remote control.
From the menu that appears, select the YouTube app that you want to open with your remote control.
You will be immediately returned to the Google TV home screen. A message will appear in the upper right corner confirming your change.
You can press and hold the YouTube button on your Chromecast remote again in the future to reassign the shortcut to a different YouTube app.

Remap the Netflix button (and everything else)
Unfortunately, it is not that easy to remap the “Netflix” button and the other buttons on the remote control. While there isn’t a built-in tool for remapping these shortcuts, you can download a paid third-party app to add extra functionality to your Chromecast with Google TV Remote.
First navigate to the “Apps” app and then select the “Search for apps” button.
Either use the onscreen keyboard or press and hold the Google Assistant button on the Chromecast remote to search for the Button Mapper app. Click the Install button to download the app to your streaming device.
After the installation, select the “Open” button.
Alternatively, after setting up the Chromecast with Google TV and connecting to your Google account, you can install the app via the Play Store. From your computer, visit Button Mapper’s Play Store list. Click the “Install” button and then select Google Chromecast as the device you want to install it on.
When the Button Mapper app is open, you need to unlock the Pro features. The in-app purchase is $ 4.99 plus tax.
You can now remap any button on your Chromecast using the Google TV remote. Select the “Add a button” option.
Then click the Add Buttons item and then press Netflix or another button on your remote control. The button shown below as “Button_3” will appear in the list. Select the option.
Finally, you can set the button’s new functionality. It can start an action (e.g. take a screenshot), open another application (e.g. Disney +, Hulu, or HBO Max), or perform several other activities.
If your Chromecast has been remapped using the Google TV remote button, you can now press it to test the new functionality.
