The PlayStation 4 has been around since 2013 and has since brought countless game releases. One thing that has not changed, however, are the strict device limitations for the PS4 Remote Play feature to stream your games. The ability has always been there, but you still had to have an iPhone or a Sony smartphone to get the best possible experience ̵
There is a Magisk module developed by Seyaru called PS4 Remote Play Enabler, which is a very fitting name for what it achieves. This updated module was originally started by developer leolawliet for Xposed and brings Magisk compatibility with it. This means that your SafetyNet exams are successful without any problems.
Once this module is installed on your system, you can remove these device restrictions and stream all of your PS4 games directly to any phone you want – as if it were officially supported. You can even update the official app in the Play Store, which makes things even better. With all this information, stop wasting time and read the instructions below.
Before you can start setting up, you need to perform three short steps of each PS4 game on your phone. First, grab the Magisk module, which lets third-party devices use the app directly from the Play Store. Then you need to download the Remote Play app and hide it with Magisk Hide, as it can detect your current root status.
Go to the Magisk Manager app, tap the menu on the left and then go to "Downloads". "Tap on the search icon and look for" ps4 "and the module you need for this guide should appear as the only entry, tap the download arrow, click" Install "and the module will start When you're done, tap the Reboot button below to restart and activate the module.
After completing the reboot, you can download it the same PS4 Remote Play app that Sony uses for officially supported devices. This new functionality opens up a whole new world of possibilities for you, as it's not just limited to a few devices.
Usually the PS4 Remote Play entry in the Play Store is hidden from unsupported devices, but you can easily access it now at any time with the module installed. Follow the link below to download and install the official app so you're one step closer to PS4 games on your phone.
When an error message appears from "Unsupported device" or "PS4 Remote Play can not be installed". You may need to clear the data for the Play Store app before you can download it. Go to your system settings and find out where to manage your installed apps. Alternatively, you can search for "Play Store" in your system preferences to access the app information for on-the-spot access.
Go to the main page to manage the Play Store App to "Memory" and tap on "Clear memory". A pop-up informs you that the app is being reset. Just tap "OK" to confirm the selection. This simply means that the Play Store is updated as if you were installing it for the first time. In this way, the changes to the Magisk module can be re-executed correctly from that point onwards.
Before you open the PS4 Remote Play app, you must use Magisk Hide to hide your root status first. Otherwise, the pop-up message "An error has occurred" is displayed with the error code "88001003" every time. This is their very general way of simply saying "you are rooted" without really expressing it. Luckily, as expected, there is a simple solution.
Open the Magisk Manager app, tap the menu on the left and go to "Magisk Hide". Tap the search icon in the top right corner and search for "ps4 remote play" or just scroll through the list to find the PS4 Remote Play app. When you find it, tap the circle to put a check mark in it, which now activates the Magisk Hide feature for this app. No reboot required and no error code anymore!
Before you start the Remote Play app, make sure the Enable Remote Play option is turned on for your PS4 console. Read the section below on your own PS4 system to verify this before proceeding. You do not have to do anything here to set up your phone with the PS4, but the option must be enabled before you can remotely connect to your phone.
Settings -> Remote Play Connection Settings
Now it's time to open the PS4 Remote Play App and to start with the good things! The first thing that appears is a screen asking if you want to wirelessly register a DualShock 4 controller. Because you are on an unsupported device, the traditional method of connecting the wireless controller may not work properly. Skip the controller setup and continue.
On the main page, tap on " Start button to start the process of connecting the phone to the PS4 console. You'll need to sign in with your PlayStation credentials as usual before you can continue with this guide. Once this is done, the PS4 Remote Play app will start searching for your PS4 via a Wi-Fi network scan. Make sure your PS4 is turned on and the network is the same as your phone.
In most cases, the PS4 should be automatically found, registered and connected to it within 60 seconds or less. Once the connection is made, you should sit on the same screen as the actual PS4 system. You have now connected your unsupported phone remotely to your PS4!
Since the controller situation is slightly different, there are two main options and an advanced solution available for you that are very determined. You can stick to the basic touchscreen controls or connect the controller to a micro USB cable / OTG adapter if needed for newer phones. I recommend using a wired controller connection to get the best possible experience with Remote Play.
For the brave and experienced, there is an Xposed module that should enable the wireless controller function like a supported device. It is called " DS4Adapter" and may not work for all setups. It's worth a try if you're determined and have the expertise of the Xposed platform. If you want to try it and install Xposed, read the instructions below to get started.
Step 6: Adjusting the settings
When When you tap the Settings icon in the top right corner of the main screen of the Remote Play app, you'll see some useful settings to check. Most important here is the "Video quality for remote playback" setting, which you can change at any time. Depending on your home network, you may need to make some changes to get the result you want for a smoother stream.
You can set the "Resolution" and "Frame Rate" to best suit your personal gaming needs and network connectivity. If the speed of your home network is reliable, increase those settings, but do the opposite if your network is not that good. When it comes to frame rate, you should set it to "High" to make sure you get the 60 FPS gameplay during your remote play session.
It All Now After setup, it's time to sit back and enjoy your PS4 games like you never thought possible – away from the TV! You must be on the same Wi-Fi network as your PS4 system, but you can play as long as you have a wireless connection. The audio is also streamed directly to your phone, which means you can use your headphones completely with it.
You used to be able to do this without being rooted, but these methods are outdated. As the modified PS4 Remote Play app is no longer updated, it no longer works when Sony updates the app itself. With this Magisk module, you can download and update the app as if you were using an official Sony device. Being able to do this like a normal app is the benefit here.
