Gmail lets you write an e-mail and set a send time. Schedule an e-mail for a later date and it will be displayed on the date and time of your choice. It's especially handy for answering emails outside office hours.

To schedule an email on the desktop
Create your emails regularly on the Gmail website in desktop browsers. Instead of clicking the usual "Send" button, click the down arrow to the right of the "Submit" button, and then click "Schedule Send."
Tell Gmail when you want to send the email. You can select a time such as "tomorrow morning" or specify a custom date and time.
You can even schedule an email for a few years. You may want to send a message to your future self in a few years! Gmail allows you to schedule emails by 2068. If Gmail is still 48 years old and Google has not changed how it works, Gmail sends the email to the intended recipient – if that email address still exists.
To schedule an email on iPhone or Android
Create your email in the Gmail iPhone app or Android normal. Tap the "Submit" button instead of tapping the "Submit" button. Tap the menu button in the upper right corner of the screen, and then tap Schedule Send.
Select the date and time that Gmail should send the email. Like on the desktop, you can choose an option such as "tomorrow morning" or select a specific date and time.

If you want to stop sending the e-mail, click Cancel in the top right corner of the e-mail.
Gmail resets the message to a draft. You can change the content and reschedule the e-mail or send it immediately. If you do not want to send the e-mail, you can delete the draft or save it for later.
How to Cancel a Scheduled Email on iPhone or Android
In the Google Mail app for iPhone or Android, tap the Menu button in the upper left corner of the screen, then tap "Scheduled" in the sidebar menu.
Tap the scheduled email message you want to cancel.

Cancel Gmail puts the email back in a draft. You only lose the e-mail if you reject the draft.
Microsoft Outlook sends only scheduled emails when the Outlook desktop program is open. Gmail is smarter. Your scheduled e-mail messages will be sent at the time you choose, even if you have not opened the Gmail website or app.
