Spotify is home to tens of millions of songs. The extensive library of the music streaming service ensures that there is something for every musical taste. However, not all of these titles are suitable for young ears, and Spotify has attempted to fix this in a new update.
Spotify has added a Parental Control to its Premium Family package (which costs $ 15 a month) to filter explicit content for specific family members. The update was launched in Ireland last month and should be available in the coming months in all regions where Spotify Premium Family is available.
If you already have the update or would like to know what to do when you receive it, follow these steps to set up Parental Control in Spotify.
Parental Controls for the Spotify Premium Family
Disabling explicit content is simple and works individually for each family member. Once you've set this up for a family member, explicit song titles for that user are grayed out and can no longer be heard.

Note that you can do this for a single account using the "Allow explicit content" option in the Spotify Preferences menu. You can use this control if, for example, you share an account on a family PC.
Following are instructions for enabling Parental Controls for Premium Family Accounts on a PC and on a mobile device.
How to set up Spotify Parental Control on your PC:
Visit www.spotify.com in a web browser.

In the section, click People in this plan on the account name of the member whose account you want to control.
On the profile page, click Allow explicit content Toggle (default: enabled) to turn off. This blocks explicit content in that person's account.
To set up Spotify parental controls on mobile devices:
Visit www.spotify.com in a web browser.
Tap the Hamburger button (three lines) at the top right, tap Sign in and then enter your account information.
Tap the drop-down menu labeled Account Summary and then Premium Family .
In the section, type people in this plan on the account name of the member whose account you want to control.
On the profile page, tap Allow explicit content to toggle (default: enabled) to turn it off. This blocks explicit content on that person's account.
