Instagram has long resisted re-sharing content. While testing a "regram" feature, it lags behind apps like Twitter and Facebook, where resharing is easy. This is probably from the ground up, since Instagram is a bastion of original content, but it has finally opened the doors a bit so you can share stories from those you follow.
This new story sharing feature does not come without catches, though. First, the story must be public (default). You must also be marked in the story itself. Even if you and your friend follow each other, you will not be able to re-divide their story if these parameters are not met. All in all, this is still a great feature as long as you can play ball.
Mark someone in an Instagram story
To tag someone in a story, take a picture or video and tap the screen, then @ention them. You can also tap the sticker icon and select the "@mention" sticker to tag someone, if you like.

Tap "Add this to your story," and your friend's story will be displayed in a blue frame. You can then add a few stickers as if they were your own, and add it to your own story, where it will stay for 24 hours. When your followers see your story, they see the username of the original poster at the beginning of the story that can be tapped.
