Like many user profiles can i create on my? Disney + account?
Each Disney + account supports up to seven individual profiles with personalized recommendations and separate watch lists.
What is there to see?
Are there parental controls?
… somehow. When you create a profile and set it up as a child account, it is restricted to a special Disney + portal that includes age-appropriate content for children.
Nothing prevents children from changing the profile into the normal Disney + experience. Disney offers no PIN protection and no way to protect it for the kid-friendly experience.
On how many devices can I stream Disney + at the same time?
Disney + allows four simultaneous streams between devices.
This is more than what Hulu (one stream at a time) and ESPN + (three streams) offer. So, if you sign up for the Triple Bundle, you should be aware of it. You should have plenty of slots so everyone in your household can see what they want with Disney +, but that's not necessarily true for the other services.
How does the download work?
You can download Disney + movies and TV on up to 10 mobile devices. Downloads are supported on iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and Android tablets (including Amazon Fire tablets). They are not available on laptops.
Disney claims that unlimited downloads are only allowed on your device because of the available memory. Subscribers must connect to the Internet at least every 30 days for downloads to remain available. However, Disney + will automatically renew the download licenses if you do so. So do not worry if you get on a plane or a hand to get your kid an iPad before a road trip.
In the Disney + Preferences menu, you can choose between high, medium, and default quality downloads, and the app will help you find out how much material you can store for each one. "High" consumes much more space than the other options. However, if you have enough space and want the best Disney + experience off the internet, this is probably the option you want.
High quality means that Disney + will download the best version of a particular show or movie that can be played on your device. The video resolution is optimized for each screen you use. If your phone or tablet supports (and more and more) advanced HDR colors, you'll get HDR-enabled downloads.
A nice touch is that Disney + always displays the various video and audio formats in which some of the content is available. Even if your device can not play something in 4K, you will at least know that the option is on TV screen. Note that in The Little Mermaid on an iPad Pro below is the downloaded HD video with Dolby Vision HDR and 5.1 audio. However, below you can see that it is available in 4K with Dolby Atmos audio elsewhere.
Do I have to pay extra for 4K?
No, 4K streaming is included in the standard Disney + plan.
Can I share my Disney + password with friends and family without any problems?
Probably, as long as you keep it within reason. Disney acknowledges that sharing passwords is one thing, and it's not too important to closely monitor who uses your Disney + account and where. But when things get out of hand or when sharing passwords significantly affects the growth of the service, Disney may become less flexible.
