Save cycles, save battery

On MacBooks, you can enable power to Nap so you can put your Mac to sleep without worrying about skipping important tasks to save more battery life. Enabling automatic graphics switching can also help Macs conserve energy by switching to a lower graphics mode for simple tasks (such as text-based editing, where graphics are less important).
There are many manual changes that you can make here, too. Cloud storage services or video players that you do not use can also be safely shut down. You can also reduce power consumption manually by turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you are not using them, turning off optional features such as the keyboard backlight, and generally reducing the number of components that consume power. Keep your battery in zone
In old, less enlightened times, there was a problem called "battery storage" nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries to increase their full charge capacity "forget" and start loading at lower and higher levels. This problem no longer exists, thanks to modern lithium-ion batteries, but it has led to many bad advices and arguments regarding battery maintenance based on outdated information. Today's lithium-ion batteries are durable, but can only absorb so much heat. For example, if you're charging your battery and it gets excessively hot, for example because the CPU or graphics processor is working hard or the environment is too hot, turn off the device and unplug the battery, if possible. Give it a break so it can cool down or you can move to a lower temperature location. Of course, many modern laptops have sealed batteries, in which case it is advisable to shut down the machine and allow it to cool down when it comes to maximizing battery life.

Cold temperatures are usually no problem up to a point and storing a battery in a cool location is recommended, but do not leave your laptop at temperatures below freezing. Too much cold can permanently destroy the battery or reduce its life.

Software and your battery
Finally, a note about your software – keep it up to date! Businesses are working hard to improve the way in which programs use software updates to consume power. The same operating system on a later patch could consume significantly less battery power, giving your battery a longer life without changing anything else.
