5G data networks are next big thing for your phone and promise twice to ten times faster download speeds when technology is introduced around the world. But global 5G networks are still in their infancy, and coverage in these early days is patchy. A new global 5G network coverage card from Ookla, maker of the popular Speedtest.net app, provides a detailed overview of which 5G networks are active in a given location from a particular network and whether this network coverage is commercially available or limited.

How to use it:

1

: Navigate to www.speedtest.net/ookla-5g-map.[19659006[2: Drag the map to find the land that interests you.

3: Click on the balloon to see how many areas from which network have 5G reception, for example if there are several cities with different active 5G networks in one country. You may need to zoom in to find specific locations in specific cities.

The card currently records 305 5G deployments and 20 mobile operators in 294 cities. Ookla announces that the tracking map will be updated weekly. It uses verified public sources (such as a network operator's announcement) and Ookla's own data, which comes from people using the Speedtest.net app in 5G coverage areas, the Twitter account @ Ookla5GMap for real-time tracking map updates ,
