How to Transfer Contacts to a New Android Phone

  The contacts app for Android.

Android gives you some options for transferring your contacts to a new device. By default, everything should be synchronized when setting up a new device, but even if syncing is off, you can easily move your contacts.

The easy way: sync with your Google Account

Almost all Android devices sold Outside Google, there are Google services, including the ability to sync your contacts between devices. This option should be enabled by default when you sign in with your Google Account. We write this manual with a Pixel 2 XL on Android 9.0, but it should look similar on other Android devices. We also use the popular Google Contacts apps that you can download from the Play Store. These steps may not be the same for other Contact apps. So if you have problems, we recommend using Google Contacts.

First, open the Settings app and tap "Accounts."

 Android Settings

Touch your Google Account.
