Set-top boxes can easily be loaded with dozens of streaming media apps. When you’re no longer using an app or game, you should uninstall it to free up storage space and possibly improve device performance. How to uninstall apps on Android TV.
First, use the directional pad on the remote control of your Android TV to select the “Apps” icon on the left side of the top line of the home screen.

Next, select the app or game that you want to uninstall from the list.
Hold down the Select or Enter key on your remote and choose Uninstall from the pop-up menu.
Selecting the button opens a new screen. You will be asked if you want to uninstall the app. Choose OK.
That’s all there is to it! You have now uninstalled an app or game from your Android TV.
Note that you cannot uninstall apps that were preinstalled on your Android TV set-top box or TV. For example, Netflix cannot be uninstalled on the Nvidia Shield TV. The option is grayed out.
