Pixel 4 is one of the most talked-about phones of 2019, and there are many things to do, especially in the world of rooting and modding. As with previous pixel generations, unlocking the bootloader is the gateway to unlock the true potential of your device. This can also make room for TWRP, Magisk, custom ROMs and many other device-specific mods.
The bootloader is software that tells your phone what it needs or needs to be restarted each time it is turned on. By default, the bootloader only allows official firmware from first-party vendors to be installed and run natively on the device. Unlocking the bootloader allows you to use third-party firmware on your device, allowing for modification.

Step 1: Enable Developer Options
First, you need to unlock the Developer Options menu on your computer's pixels. To do this, go to Settings -> By Phone, scroll down and tap the Build Number entry seven times in quick succession. For more help with this part, read our full tutorial:
Now open the Settings app and go to the System section. Go to "Advanced" and select "Developer Options". Find the "OEM Unlock" option and tap it once to open a command prompt. Enter your password or PIN and tap the "Activate" button to confirm your selection.
After the OEM unlock option has been marked, it is time to unlock the boot loader to start the actual unlock process. Press and hold down the power button, then press the "Power Off" option to completely turn off the phone. When the phone is off, press and hold the power key and the volume key at the same time until the main menu of the fastboot mode is displayed.
Now you need to install the required ADB and Fastboot platform on your computer to get the correct commands to send to your phone. Google offers the SDK Platform Tools package, which includes everything you need in a small ZIP file. Follow the link below to get the latest version for your operating system.
Now You Have the Platform If the Tools SDK is installed on your computer, you need to open a command window to execute the commands in this folder. As When you unlock the bootloader, the device will revert to factory settings. Make sure all critical data is backed up to a computer to keep it safe until the process of unlocking your boot loader is complete.
From this point on, a command window should already be open in the platform-tools folder and the next part ready. Enter the following command, then press Enter to confirm your selection.
