With a library of content growing all the time, there's a lot to see on Netflix – as long as you find something that interests you. The streaming service allows users to search for general categories, but if you want to be more specific, there is a trick that can help you.
As it turns out, the Streamer has assigned to each code code genre and subgenre, and you can access the full list of movies or programs for each manually, depending on what's running on Netflix. To do this, you need to enter the following URL in your internet browser: http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/INSERTNUMBER. Then simply swap the "INSERTNUMBER" component with the code that corresponds to the desired genre and see all available options.
The categories range from fairly general (ie anime), drama and TV series) to extremely specific (ie movies at the age of 5 to 7 years, teen comedies and werewolf horror films). With their quick and easy way to load them into a browser, they serve as a useful tool to find exactly what you want to stream, in addition to the Netflix homepage and search options.
Instead of typing links manually, Google users of Chrome can install the helpful FindFlix extension to search lesser-known genres. Those who do not use Chrome can browse through some of our favorite "secret" Netflix codes by clicking. Enjoy browsing!
