The Galaxy Note 20 series has one of the largest screens of any smartphone. Not only does such a massive display make it easier to enjoy videos, it also makes split-screen mode more workable, as each half of the screen is large enough to enjoy the content – including two different videos.
If a phone is designed for this use, it is the Galaxy Note 20 series. With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC and 8 or 12 GB of RAM, it has all the necessary components so that you can share your phone’s display with friends nearby. In addition to playing two videos, you can split the audio into different sources so that you and your friend can enjoy whatever you want with a phone too.
: Install SoundAssistant
You only need one app to make this happen, Samsung’s very own SoundAssistant. If you haven’t already installed this awesome app on your Galaxy Note 20, you can download it right away from the link below. In addition to playing two different videos, this app lets you adjust the number of volume steps, add an equalizer to your volume control panel, and much more.
Step 2: Enable Multi Sound
After the installation, open the app and activate the “Multi Sound” switch. You will be asked to choose an app. To do this, choose “Select”. On the new page, choose a video streaming app that you want to watch at the same time. Once selected, this app will play audio even if you play a video from another source.
Step 3: split your audio
Return to the main SoundAssistant page and select “Separate App Sound” just below the previous option. Activate the switch on the next page and choose “Select” in the pop-up. You will see a page similar to that in Step 2. Select the same app that you selected from the list in Step 2.
Once selected, this app can output its sound on a separate audio device. Without this feature, when playing two videos, the sound of both apps will be played simultaneously through the same speaker or headphones. By default, it is set to any connected Bluetooth audio device. Don’t change this.
Step 4: try it out
Now pair a Bluetooth device with your phone and open the same video app for which you have set “Multi-Sound” and “Separate app sound” and play a video. This should be output through the Bluetooth audio device as usual. However, use split-screen mode to open another app and play a video. The sound will be played through the phone’s speaker instead of bluetooth, which will complete the process.
It should be noted that the audio output to the speaker cannot use Samsung’s dual audio function for output to another Bluetooth headset or speaker. So, if you want to split the audio but don’t want it to come out of the phone’s speaker, plug in USB-C headphones (e.g., the included AKG headphones). These output the same audio as the phone’s speaker, but not the audio from Bluetooth.
