Apple released iOS 11.4.1 Developer's Beta 1 on Wednesday, May 30, just one day after the official release of iOS 11.4, releasing news in iCloud and AirPlay 2 for the first time. There does not seem to be any new features in this first beta release of iOS 11.4.1, instead we focus on "bugfixes and improvements" instead.
Apple's release notes for developers do not contain comments on new features or issues fixed in iOS 11.4.1 Beta 12, nor any obvious issues that exist. This is just a sign that this beta update contains minor bug fixes, security patches and enhancements on iOS for iOS. We will not know for sure until we get into this new software and we will update this post if we find something worthwhile.

Beta testers may not know what to expect on iOS 11.4.1, but we all know about iOS 11.4. The new update saw the long-awaited release of messages in iCloud and AirPlay 2, features that have been tested since their announcement in June 2017.
While users with an AirPlay 2-compatible speaker can try the advanced controls, messaging in iCloud hangs in a kind of limbo because Apple has not yet released a macOS update that includes this feature.
As we continue to test iOS 11.4.1, all eyes turn to June 4th, when Apple will unveil iOS 12 at WWDC. This year's update is designed to sacrifice stability features to combat the familiar iOS 11 bugginess. Nevertheless, there should be new features that we can dig into. We can not know for sure until next week, but check out our list below to see what we expect Apple to do with the twelfth iteration of iOS.
