Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., Had an awkward moment during a virtual campaign rally in North Carolina Thursday when she and a staff member burst out laughing in the middle of a serious election campaign.
“So my final point is, this election ends in 19 days,” Harris said, a smile crossed her face. “Yes, I said that. Kamala, did you say it will end in 19 days? Yes, I said it will end in 19 days.” At this point Harris seemed to be fending off the laughter.

“Because you’re seeing North Carolina, the early voting starts today October 15th,” she continued when a laughing male voice was heard outside the camera. “So, we want you to start voting. On October 15th, we want you to start voting early.”
The North Carolina Personal Early Voting will take place October 15-31. Postal voting began when the ballot papers went to voters on September 4th. North Carolina was the first state to send ballots out to voters.

Harris went on to encourage voters to re-elect Democratic Governor Roy Cooper, who had participated in a debate against Republican rival Lt. Governor Dan Forest had attended.
Forest persecuted Cooper for restrictions he put in place to counter the coronavirus pandemic. This included bars and gyms remaining closed longer than in other states.
“We don’t need a governor to treat us like 5-year-olds,” said Forest, according to WRAL. “The blocking mandates and the masks actually do more harm than good.”
