Keep spam out of your Google Calendar

  Gmail

Keep spammers away from Gmail and Google Calendar.

Derek Poore / CNET

Is spam in your Gmail inbox not bad enough? Apparently not. Spammers now access your Google Calendar and use Gmail messages to trigger Google Calendar invitations. The spam exploit uses the integration between Gmail and Calendar to send fraudulent invitations that may contain malicious links. Fortunately, your Google Calendar settings can prevent these spammers from blowing up your calendar.

Google Calendar displays only the invitations you responded to. So, if there's a sneaky email in your spam folder that triggers a spam calendar event, it will no longer appear on your calendar. Instead, you'll accept all your other meetings and events through Gmail instead of automatically displaying them on your calendar.

How to start:

  spammer gmail "height =" 0 "width =" 370 "data-original =" https://cnet2.cbsistatic.com/img/8smxoLWmU39wwPgTf_hEEDmb0Sw=/370x0/201<div class="e3lan e3lan-in-post1"><script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<!-- Text_Display_Responsive -->
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-7542518979287585"
     data-ad-slot="2196042218"
     data-ad-format="auto"
     data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script></div>9/08/ 27 / f6c5d487-61c3-4eef-879e-260f669452en / screenshot-20190827-101226-calendar.jpg [19659008[spammersgmail"height="0"width="370
