Kentucky AG agrees to publish tapes to the grand jury in the Breonna Taylor case

Last week, the Louisville Grand Jury charged one of the officers for endangering Taylor’s neighbors who fired bullets into their home. None of the officers were charged with the murder of Taylor, who was shot five times after officers knocked down her door to issue a narcotics arrest warrant on March 13.

Cameron said last week that two of the officers, Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, were authorized to fire their guns because Taylor’s friend Kenneth Walker shot them.

“Our prosecutors have presented all of the evidence, although the evidence suggests that Sgt. Mattingly and Det. Cosgrove was justified in his use of force after he was shot at by Kenneth Walker,”

; Cameron said in the statement. “For this reason, only willful exposure was recommended.”

On Monday, an unidentified grand juror filed a court motion requesting a judge to release the grand jury’s record of proceedings.

Cameron agreed to the release of the recordings that the grand jury should be a “secret organ”.

“It is obvious that the public interest will not allow this in this case,” said Cameron.
