Konami has become something of a pariah among modern game publishers – search YouTube for “Metal Gear Survive“If you̵
The big star of this collection is Metal gears. GOG hosts the original NES Metal gears from 1987 (6 US dollars) the PlayStation classic Metal Gear Solid from 1998 ($ 10) and the PS2 sequel Metal Gear Solid 2 from 2001 (10 USD). MGS2 will be in his “substancePackage, a re-release for Xbox and PC that includes bonus story and VR missions.
The other game in the package is a collection of very old ones Castlevania Platformer and Versus Side scrolling shooters. Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra contains the original Castlevania (1986), Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (1987) and Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse (1989). You also get the original NES version of Versus (1987) and Super C. (1988, also “Super cons“). They all get five for six dollars, which is probably what the original means Metal gears is quantitatively worth five times as much as each of them.
It’s strange that these games were released on GOG rather than Steam, but the latter’s focus on archive titles and support could help explain this – the PlayStation era Metal Gear Solid Games take a bit of work to run on modern Windows computers. It is rumored that the original Metal Gear Solid gets a next-gen remake for the PS5 in the style of Final Fantasy VII Remake, along with each other’s HD remasters MGS Games, but there is no confirmation of this.
