LastPass users are getting some new security features to keep their most sensitive data safe with several new additions to the service. Initially, the company launches the security dashboard for all users (free and paid) as well as advanced password monitoring tools for paid subscribers.
The security dashboard replaces the security challenge
Long-time LastPass users have undoubtedly seen the Security Challenge tool before. This feature allows users to quickly find weak or reused passwords and change them to more secure generated options in the app. The new security dashboard replaces this in the app and provides an easier and more accessible place to find the same information. It will be available both on the web and in the app.
Paid subscribers are provided with password monitoring tools
The security dashboard also gives paid subscribers access to a new tool for monitoring the dark web. This works in a similar way to services like Have I Been Pwned to let you know if any of your passwords have been compromised and are available in more questionable parts of the web.
The password monitoring tool keeps users informed of any leaks or violations related to their passwords with automatically generated emails. These will show the site that has been breached and you can change your password with a stronger option that is generated in the app.
