At the beginning of the second half of 2018, rumors about the second season of flagships have sprung up. On the Android side, this means the latest versions of Google Pixel, Galaxy Note, LG V series and Huawei Mate. Thanks to FunkyHuawei and XDA, we now hear some solid rumors about the Huawei Mate 20.
Despite our hopes for the introduction of the P series in the US, it seems as though we are just going to get stuck the Mate series. I use "stuck" loose as these are great phones that consistently rank high on the list of best sleeper phones. Based on recent leaks, the Mate 20 looks set to reiterate this list as Huawei continues to push the smartphones data sheet.

The New Kirin 980
At the Heart of The new Huawei Mate 20 is the new HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset In keeping with previous years, the Kirin 980 will be announced first before the Mate 20 during the IFA 2018. The Huawei Mate 20 will be the first mobile phone to use the SoC developed by Huawei.
According to XDA, the Kirin Using a 7nm process 980, a novelty for any SoC (for the context, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 uses a 10nm process) would as well mean they would be the same size as the upcoming Apple A12 SoC, hopefully closing the gap between the two processors.
The smaller process leads to better energy efficiency as it generates less heat and uses less energy for the same tasks. Rumors indicate a 40% improvement in energy efficiency over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It will also bring improvements in performance, which is reportedly 20% better than the 845.
It is rumored that the Kirin 980 uses four Cortex A77 cores clocked at 2.8 GHz. This should help outperform Qualcomm's latest flagship SoC, which uses Cortex A75 at the same clock rate. A previously published AnTuTu benchmark showed that the Mate 20 could reach a score of 356,918. With this result, the Mate 20 is 92,874 higher than the Galaxy S9 + – this would give him the highest score on AnTuTu for current Android devices.
According to XDA, early evidence points to a 6.3 "AMOLED panel Based on the Mate 10 Pro, I'd guess Huawei will use a Samsung panel again, we currently know the resolution Not since Huawei decided last year to confuse things with a mix 1440p LCD panel for the Mate 10 and a 1080p AMOLED screen on the Mate 10 Pro.
According to rumors, XDA also have a for the Mate 20 Pro planned 6.9 "OLED panel out. While this would be of interest to media consumption, even if they adjust the ergonomics for one-handed operation, this will probably be too much for most people as it goes into tableting territory.
Wireless Charging (Finally) [HuaweiwillfinallyrechargetheMateSerieswirelesslyDespitetheintroductionofaglassbackontheMate10HuaweidecidedagainstwirelesschargingforareasonsimilartoOnePlus-itwastooslowHoweveritseemsthatHuaweihasheardthecallanddecidedtoaddthecovetedfeaturestotheirupcomingdevices
According to Gizmochina, Huawei could imagine a new and improved wireless charging station next to the Mate 20, which is likely to be the main reason for wireless charging in addition. According to Gizmochina, the new wireless charging technology would allow a dock to charge multiple devices at the same time.
Earlier reports showed that Huawei would like to include the Mate 20 among the first handfuls of phones with an in-display fingerprint scanner. According to XDA, the Mate 20 Pro will contain this technology, but the Mate 20 or Lite version will not be included. If this rumor comes true, it will be one of six cell phones that includes this feature, and it will follow next year.
According to XDA, this will also be the first Huawei phone to feature Android P starts. As usual, EMUI will be up to date with the skin updated to 9.0 and the version number will be the same as Android P. This will introduce some new changes, including battery life and security. Although we do not know how the skin will visually change, expect Huawei to bring many of the visual changes you expect from EMUI skins.
Price & Availability
No quotations have been made yet, but we can make some well-founded guesses. We know that the Mate 10 Pro debuted in the US for $ 799. Therefore, we believe that the Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro (which version they want to give us) will be at least $ 50 more than that, about $ 849. However, with all the rumors changes and the higher prices of Apple and Samsung flagships, Huawei has a bit of wobble phone to increase profit margins, while the cheaper option remains. Therefore, our assumption is a price between $ 899 – $ 949.
In terms of availability, this is even more difficult to figure out. With all the pushback from the US government, Huawei may renounce the US as a whole (although Huawei has assured us that they are committed to the Mate series in the US, but things can always change). Since it is unlikely that Huawei will delay the release to get support from the carrier again, I expect a release before the end of the year on Amazon and other e-commerce sites.
Huawei seems determined to end . With such a competitive offer (at least on paper) with the Mate 20 series, it looks like they can reach their destination. What do you think about the Mate 20 Pro? Are you looking forward to the specifications? Let us know in the comments below.
