Theis a perfect phone, full of artificial intelligence and other unusual features.
Rather than wait until you come across a new feature or setting, read our list of 10 tips and tricks. We can not promise that they will change your life, but they will help you make the most of your new phone.
Change view settings
Tabs or a list: These are options for different views of the G7 app "Settings". To switch from the default view of the tab, tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of App Settings and select List View .
Dig the notch
It's 2018, and scores are the latest craze. After Apple announced the iPhone X ($ 799.99 at Cricket Wireless) Android manufacturers have adopted the new design to make room for larger displays in smaller phones. With the G7, LG gives users the opportunity to completely hide the display notch or to completely enclose it with color accents.
Open Settings > Display > New Second Screen and cut the notch or second screen, as LG calls it, to your liking.
Save some battery life
As a general rule of thumb, the higher the resolution, the more strain on the battery. LG has implemented a setting to reduce the resolution of the G7, which in turn should reduce the processing power (and battery) needed to push all these pixels.
Decreases the resolution of the display in Settings > Display > Screen resolution by moving the point between low, medium, and high.
Adding and removing navigation buttons
Back, Home, and Current App Views are the default buttons in the navigation bar for almost all Android devices. You can add, remove, or rearrange the LG G7's buttons by going to Settings > Home Touch Buttons .
Change the color of the bar itself and add more or remove buttons on the keyboard shortcut page.
Where's the app drawer, bro
Android users usually love their app drawer, so being warned by a phone manufacturer in favor of an iOS-like home screen can be pathetic and frustrating.
Activate the app drawer of the G7 in Settings > Display > Home Screen > Select Home and select Home & App Drawer .
Note that you can also choose whether to place an app tray button in the bottom dock. If you choose to remove it, a finger on the home screen will open the app tray.
Smart Bulletin or not
LG's Smart Bulletin is very useful. It is located on the left side of the home screen and displays various shortcuts to music controls and updates based on the time of day.
If you are not a fan of the added screen, disable it in Settings > Display > Home Screen .
Alternatively, you can customize what's displayed in your Smart Bulletin by selecting it at the same setting.
Magic Floating Bar
The G7 has a floating bar feature that provides shortcuts to popular tools, regardless of what you're doing on the phone.
Go to Settings > Extensions > Floating Bar and enable the function. The bar includes options for including app shortcuts, screenshot tools, music controls, and contact links.
Use the floating bar by tapping its icon (usually on the edge of the screen) and then swipe through the various windows.
Everyone gets a GIF
Disabling the Screen Capture feature of the active balance bar will display a GIF tool for recording and creating an animated image of what is currently on your screen.
Access the floating bar and swipe to the screenshot tools, then select the GIF button. Change the size of the recording box, and then press the record button. Tap Stop when you're done and save or share your creation.
Disable the Google Assistant dedicated button
A special Google Assistant button may seem like a good idea, but in practice it's often triggered. If you're tired of the wizard trying and talking to you, disable the shortcut button altogether.
At the end of Settings > Extensions > Keyboard shortcuts is the option to disable the Google Assistant button.
One thing I personally find useful when using LG devices is the ability to pin an app and prevent it from being closed. This prevents me from losing my seat in my reddit feed or closing YouTube after pausing a video.
To prevent an app from closing, tap the Recent apps button on the navigation bar and then tap the pushpin icon on the app's map.
Now, if you delete all applications, all pinned applications remain open.
