Reporting guidelines vary from district to district in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, but many school systems in the area choose to remain largely mom. Some school officials say they don̵

This can make it difficult to determine if a school system has had an outbreak. When a staff member at the Montgomery County Public Schools headquarters recently tested positive for the virus, informal news about the case was released. Spokeswoman Gboyinde Onijala confirmed this on Wednesday, saying she could not release further details due to medical confidentiality, but all potentially exposed people have been notified and the superintendent and school board have been notified.
